I am an accounting major would a financial planning certificate or an economics minor be more valuable? - financial planning certificate
the certificate of the economy is interesting, but financial help. Did you like a suit "corporate look"? Then the economy. You see more hands on / in your own company? so do the financial planning certificate.

As a former financial services executive, I think you should consider: (1) The accounts a discipline that applies in many places and circumstances, is at the heart of almost all companies. (2) an accountant working for public and private companies and jobs are always in demand. (3) Financial planning is a large and currently has a requirement for significant sales. (4) economy is a social science is rather theoretical.
No one can say that you should choose. Should they consider their interests and goals.
I check out www.learntosucceed.biz they offer more advice.
I think it depends on whether you really see himself as a financial planner. Seems to require a lot of revenue, while making a good salary, have a high failure rate. I think if you are more likely to be the professional past, a small economy to be more impressive look at his resume.
fp is a company (especially if a certificate) economy (economy jobs is actually very limited), but I think it is limited to small businesses. which could be very useful, for example in a large consulting firm. In times of recession, employers may look for a faster return on the attitudes, and perhaps in this sense, PF is better.
